The RV was a new concept to me in the beginning and I did a lot of research trying to get to know more about pros and cons about living in an RV. Some of the videos which I watched really inspired me. One such video about installing solar panels to offset some of the electricity costs really had me thinking about it seriously. I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me to how to go about it.

Luxury RVs are coming with pre installed solar panels as some of the appliances are powered by solar energy in the RV.
There is no harm in placing solar panels on the RV rooftop as it will generate enough power to run few of the systems in your RV if not all.
Solar panels can be used to run at least a few equipments in the RV and save the power from the battery. But this is subject to the weather conditions of the place you propose to visit.
Solar panels to generate power does not sound to be a viable option as these installations are cumbersome and add to the weight of the RV and also can be used only in places with adequate sunshine.
Many solar panel systems for RVs are designed for easy installation, with pre-wired panels and simple mounting systems. When installing solar panels on your RV, it's important to consider factors such as the size and capacity of the panels, the type of battery system you have, and the type of camping you plan to do. You should also work with a professional who can help you design and install a system that meets your specific needs and requirements.
